01. Add Article Thumbnail (article image show to the right of article title) It is configurable (Hidden, or different sizes) (Option Menu->Settings->Display & Presentation->Article thumbnail)
02. Add Article Snippet (article summary show to the bottom of article title) It is configurable (Hidden, or different lengths) (Option Menu->Settings->Display & Presentation->Article snippet)
03. Add configuration to Confirm Delete (promote user confirmation message before a article(s) are deleted) (Option Menu->Settings->Display & Presentation->Confirm article delete)
04. Add configuration to show feed/article title bold or normal font style(Option Menu->Settings->Display & Presentation->Title font bold)
05. Add “Advanced” configuration section, first configuration is “Sqlite synchronous off” (Option Menu->Settings->Advanced->Sqlite synchronous off), if you are users think application speed is everything, this option is for you. With this checked, it improves application database speed, but it could potentially corrupt database when OS crashes or device loses power. Warning: In case this happen, application has to be uninstall and reinstall. Please refer to “http://www.sqlite.org/pragma.html#pragma_synchronous”
06. Add new Clear Cache menu option (backend service run clear cache every two days automatically, this menu give you option to clear cache manually)
07. Add new Mark Resync Images menu option
08. Replaced Removed Ad menu option with Help Us! menu option
09. Improvement: Image caching implementation
10. Improvement: Application performance
11. Fix Bug: Image disappear after change storage between Device Memory and SdCard
12. Fix Bug: When there is new feed get added and before first successfully update, when try to open feed property, it shows blank property content

Don’t let the simplicity of this website fool you. Meecal’s RSS ATom News Reader is the app for which I have been waiting. It puts the standard Motorola News app and the new Google Reader app to shame, while simultaneously providing an easy way to integrate your Google Reader feeds. Feeds are organized into groups, which you can add, organize, manage, and delete at will. Tired of a particular feed? Just press and hold the feed, and the delete option will appear. Backup feature, cache-clearing feature, sqlite disabler, GZIP compression, easy way to rate app in the Android Market. This app makes me WANT to use RSS/Feeds. I downloaded it only because it appeared in the “just in” section, and was so enamored with it, that I added it to the front page of my Android phone. Good job Meecal!

A few other thoughts:
– create filters. user can specify conditions/keywords and you look at incoming and those that match are in the filter. it looks like a feed, but is just the matching items.
– tagging wuld be nice. allow user to define tag. on long press ability to select/deselect a tag. tags have a feed. never clean up atgged items. lots of space on most sd cards.

I’d like to see “download images” toggleable per-feed provider… some use images to good effect, others abuse it.
Also, I’m a bit annoyed that, when upgrading to Elite, my settings from the free “News Reader” weren’t migrated. I had to figure out what to rename the backup xml file, and change all preferences manually… it would seem an easy thing for the app to handle.
Toggle per feed for image is great suggestion, we will make it to our todo list.
We will try to improve upgrade to elite user experience as soon as we could.

can we get an un subscribe feature? and also why do my feeds disappear after I have read them. would like to have a recently viewed shortcut as well. thanks, otherwise great app. perhaps a final thing could be suggested or popular feeds like what Google reader has
long press on feed, and it should popup the context menu where you could choose to Delete Feed.
go to option menu, you can choose to Show Read/Hide Read (default is Show Read, you probably press on Hide Read by accident)
Time stamp on the feed I am receiving from a traffic info site is 6 hours behind. I am in the central time zone. Is there a time zone setting that needs to be changed?

Dislike the update playback controls are buried and removed the fastforword and rewind controls. Needed to delete old shortcut and replace in order for it to work. Why do I need to tell it to download the article before I tell it to download the podcast? That being said I do like being able to run an update on 4g rather than only 3g or wifi. On EVO 4G running Cyanogenmod 7.
Almost forgot, why isn’t there a play button in each article? Do we really have to add it to a playlist in order to play a single podcast?

Just two things: 1. I am missing the possibility to override the “Wi-Fi only for article” option with a manually started article update. I think the this option should prevent automatic update cycles but should allow a manual one started by the user. 2. The “Read articles are hidden” message is shown too many times.
Thank you for suggestion, Read articles are hidden message is fixed in 3.1.2 released last night. You can go to settins->Article Update->Wi-Fi only for article to change settings
Thank you, didn’t recognized there is allready a new version on the market. :o) in Version 2 I used the option to download automaticly every 4 hours over WiFi only, so it’s not updating when I am out of WiFi range. This worked like a charm in V2 and V3. But in V2 it was possible to update manually with Menu -> Update All despite this WiFi only option was set.
I used this sometimes when I was on the go (no WiFi range) and I didn’t had to change the “WiFi only” options to “off” first, I thought this was developed this way for purpose in V2 and was forgotten in V3. I think this was a good feature.
Sorry, maybe I just don’t find the right option for this in V3 or I am explaining it to badly, I am not a native english speaker… :o)
