    Hi Meecal Devs,

I downloaded RSS Reader 1.9.7 and would like to permanently remove ads. I’m in SEAsia – the Philippines to be exact – and paid apps are not supported by market here. Would you be able to assist directly, ie the way that Titanium BackUp & Documents to Go allow direct donations/payment to the devs?

Rooted HTC Desire w/ Sense UI Froyo ROM

Currently, Paid RSS Reader only support through Android Market. We will try to set up a Paypal payment method, this way, you can pay through Paypal, we will send you Elite (Ad-free) version by email. Thank you for support our continue development.

I am concernced about possible security issues that might arise with apps that request google account credentials, such as RSS Reader.

Say for example that I have provided credit card information in google checkout, and then I give my google credentials to RSS Reader, which would enable the app to login to my checkout too.

So, I would like to ask two questions:
    1. From a purely technical perspective, is it possible for third party software such as RSS Reader to decypher credit card information from checkout, provided that they have the user’s google credentials (username/password) ?

    2. What do you have to say to us perspective users about respecting privacy of information?

Thank you very much in advance. Excellent app by the way, I like the fact that it can also handle podcast subscriptions.

Current RSS Reader 1.98 support import feed from Google Reader, but NOT support sync feed Read/Unread with Google Reader. This feature will come in future version.

      1. Current implementation, ask user to enter their User Name and Password, these two information is saved in Android Application Preference repository. This information is only used by RSS Reader to authenticate again Google to retrieve Feed list for import.

      2. Even RSS Reader uses Google Account Info entered by user only for retrieve Google Reader Feed List, We understand your concern about the security, we will try to implement a quick fix as soon as possible by not to remember user password in Application Preference, which other application may potentially get access to. Down side is every time user try to import from Google Reader, user will get promoted to enter password again.

For long term implementation, we will try to integrate with more secure build-in Android Authentication interface (Only support Android 2.0 or above) or OAuth, we will look into the best option for security and user experience. This implementation, will probably not going to start until we get to implementation of Sync feature with Google Reader. It may be some weeks away.

Thank you for your support, please let us know if you have further question or concern.
